Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his two-day visit to Gujarat on May 26, 2025, with a grand roadshow in Vadodara, marking his first public appearance in the state following Operation Sindoor. The ‘Sindoor Samman Yatra’ witnessed enthusiastic participation from thousands of citizens, including families of martyred soldiers and Colonel Sofiya Qureshi’s family, who honoured the Prime Minister with flower petals.
The roadshow, stretching from Vadodara Airport to Milan Party Plot, was lined with supporters expressing their admiration. Notably, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, recognised for her role in briefing India’s cross-border operations during Operation Sindoor, was present with her family, symbolising national pride and unity.
Following the roadshow, PM Modi proceeded to Dahod, where he inaugurated India’s first 9,000 HP electric locomotive engine manufacturing plant, a significant step in the nation’s industrial advancement. He also launched and laid the foundation for various development projects across Gujarat, totalling over ₹82,000 crore, encompassing sectors like railways, urban development, and water supply.
The Prime Minister’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to infrastructure growth and national security, resonating with citizens who gathered in large numbers to show their support.
