Vijay Rupani’s son reaches Gandhinagar
Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also lost his life in the devastating plane crash. However, as of now, his body has not been officially identified. The Civil Hospital is conducting DNA testing and matching to confirm identities. Vijay Rupani’s son has arrived in Gandhinagar, and the final funeral arrangements will only be made after the DNA confirmation is completed.
Another body recovered from plane wreckage
Two full days have gone by since the horrific Gozari plane crash in Ahmedabad. The rescue teams continue their intense search and identification operations at Civil Hospital. During the debris-clearing operation at the crash site, another body was discovered from the tail section of the aircraft. It is suspected that this may be the body of the air hostess who was reportedly trapped inside the aircraft during the crash.
Air hostess’s body suspected
According to information received from reliable sources, the rescue team working at the crash site detected a strong odour near the tail section of the wrecked aircraft. Upon further investigation, they discovered a dead body of a woman. It was stuck beneath several layers of wreckage, and the debris had to be cut open using tools to retrieve the body. The body has now been sent to Civil Hospital for a postmortem and further identification.
Civil Hospital receives 265 bodies
So far, a total of 265 dead bodies have been received at the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. The condition of many of these bodies is severely deteriorated, making visual identification nearly impossible. Due to this, DNA testing is being carried out on a war footing by forensic experts, so that the families of the deceased can receive the bodies of their loved ones with full confirmation.
Fuel adulteration could be a possible cause of the crash?
There are ongoing discussions and speculations regarding the actual cause of the plane crash. One possible reason being suggested is adulteration in the fuel used by the aircraft. Former Deputy Director of the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Saligram J. Muralidhar, has mentioned fuel adulteration as a possible technical reason behind the tragic accident. However, he also clarified that this theory is preliminary and that the final cause will only be confirmed after the full investigation report is submitted.
Muralidhar stated, “If the fuel was adulterated, it may not have delivered the required thrust or performance. This may have caused a serious failure mid-air, resulting in the crash.” At present, relevant authorities are carrying out a multi-agency investigation to determine the actual reason behind the crash.
