Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today (Tuesday) inaugurated the Ayushman Arogya Temple in the Tis Hazari Court complex. On this occasion, she said that this is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. CM Gupta said, ‘Today, 33 Ayushman Arogya Temples and 17 Jan Aushadhi Centers are being inaugurated together in Delhi.
During the event, Rekha Gupta strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party’s Mohalla Clinic scheme. She said, ‘The Mohalla Clinic was a complete scam. There was no proper care, no medicines. The only aim was to make money. These clinics were set up near drains and garbage dumps, and doctors were paid ₹40 per patient. You can imagine the quality of treatment in such a setup.
She appealed to the Bar Association to ban the putting up of posters outside the court premises and to avoid defacing the walls. She said, ‘It’s everyone’s responsibility to help keep Delhi beautiful.
Continuing this initiative, Delhi’s PWD Minister Parvesh Verma also inaugurated an Ayushman Arogya Temple at the Babar Road Dispensary. He said, ‘This initiative is the result of the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. These centers will provide free treatment, medicines, physiotherapy, and wellness services. Because of this, people won’t need to visit big hospitals for minor illnesses.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari inaugurated an Ayushman Arogya Temple in B-Block of Yamuna Vihar. Criticizing the Mohalla Clinics, he said they were so small that people would stumble and fall as soon as they entered. There were no testing facilities there. But in the Ayushman Arogya Temples, tests will be available, and people will also be able to do yoga.
In addition, Minister Kapil Mishra also inaugurated an Ayushman Arogya Temple in Khajuri Khas. During the event, the District Magistrate, senior officials, and the health department team were present.
It’s worth noting that under the Prime Minister’s Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, 1,139 Ayushman Arogya Temples have been set up in Delhi at a cost of ₹2,406 crore. A total of 33 dispensaries run by the Delhi Government, the Municipal Corporation, and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) have been developed as these centers. The launch was originally scheduled for June 14 but was postponed due to the Ahmedabad plane incident.
Today, all Cabinet Ministers in Delhi will inaugurate these centers in their respective constituencies, marking a major step toward making healthcare services more accessible in the national capital.
