The Central Government has taken big steps for farmers and development. In the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday, five major decisions were made, focusing on agriculture and infrastructure.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the government has approved INR 2.07 lakh crore for MSP (Minimum Support Price) on Kharif crops. This move will help farmers earn at least 50% profit over the cost of their crops.
To make loans easier for farmers, the Cabinet also approved an interest subsidy scheme. Under this, farmers can get loans up to INR 3 lakh at just 4% interest through the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) if they repay the loan on time. The government will spend INR 15,642 crore for this scheme.
Along with these, three major infrastructure projects have also been approved:
- INR 3,653 crore for Badvel–Nellore 4-lane highway in Andhra Pradesh
- 135 km railway line expansion between Wardha and Ballarshah in Maharashtra
- 41 km railway track widening between Ratlam and Nagda in Madhya Pradesh
These projects aim to improve connectivity, promote economic growth, and help people in rural areas.
The decisions show the government’s strong focus on farmer welfare and nation-building through infrastructure.
