Drishyam 3 Hindi and Malayalam Shooting to Begin in October: Scripts May Differ

Drishyam 3

Both Ajay Devgn and Mohanlal are set to begin filming their respective versions of ‘Drishyam 3’ in October 2025. While Ajay Devgn will commence the Hindi version from October 2, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has also confirmed that he will start shooting for the Malayalam ‘Drishyam 3’ in the same month.

This simultaneous production has sparked speculation in the film industry. The major question is whether the script for both versions will be identical or differ to suit regional narratives and audience preferences.

Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam’ (2015) and ‘Drishyam 2’ (2022) were official Hindi remakes of Mohanlal’s Malayalam originals, both of which received massive acclaim. However, there has been buzz that the makers might shoot both third parts simultaneously, preventing the Malayalam version from releasing first — a strategy that could help maintain suspense and boost box office performance for both versions.

Despite the parallel shooting plans, there has been no official statement about a collaboration between the Hindi and Malayalam teams. It is also unclear whether the films will follow the same storyline or diverge into two different interpretations.

The Drishyam franchise holds immense importance in the careers of both lead actors. For Mohanlal, the original ‘Drishyam’ established a legacy in Malayalam cinema and was remade in several languages. For Ajay Devgn, the Hindi version became a significant box office and critical success, especially for his performance as Vijay Salgaonkar.

With both versions now moving into production, fans can expect thrilling developments in this gripping crime-suspense series later this year.
