While Ajay Devgn will commence the Hindi version from October 2, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has also confirmed that he will start shooting for the Malayalam ‘Drishyam 3’ in the same month.
This simultaneous production has sparked speculation in the film industry. The major question is whether the script for both versions will be identical or differ to suit regional narratives and audience preferences.
Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam’ (2015) and ‘Drishyam 2’ (2022) were official Hindi remakes of Mohanlal’s Malayalam originals, both of which received massive acclaim. However, there has been buzz that the makers might shoot both third parts simultaneously, preventing the Malayalam version from releasing first — a strategy that could help maintain suspense and boost box office performance for both versions.
