As the country moves closer to the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY), a wave of yoga festivities is sweeping across India under the banner of the grand Yoga Mahakumbh. From the high peaks of Ladakh to cultural centres in Delhi and the lively local parks of Noida, Yoga Mahakumbh 2025 is emerging as a rich and inclusive celebration of India’s age-old yoga tradition.
The International Day of Yoga will be celebrated globally on 21st June 2025, with this year’s official theme being “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” This theme highlights how yoga not only promotes individual well-being, but also aligns with global sustainability and collective health.
Leading this movement from the front, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in a massive yoga event in Visakhapatnam, where synchronized Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) sessions will be held at over 1 lakh locations across the country. This large-scale initiative aims to take yoga to the grassroots and promote it as a lifestyle choice for all Indians.

Meanwhile, another major Yoga Mahakumbh began on 15th June in Ladakh, high up in the rarefied air of the Himalayas. The International Festival of Yoga and Meditation (IFYM) 2025 has already grabbed attention — both nationally and internationally — with yoga sessions held at stunning locations like Pangong Lake (over 13,000 feet above sea level), Nubra Valley, Sindhu Ghat, and the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) campus in Devachan. Jointly organised by the Ministry of AYUSH, MIMC, the Union Territory Administration of Ladakh, and the LAHDC Leh, this year’s festival theme — “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” — strongly reflects the global relevance of yoga today.

In addition, another Yoga Mahakumbh also began on 15th June in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Arham Dhyan Yoga launched the festival in Sector 50, with eco-friendly yoga sessions, essay and debate competitions, and interactive activities at Ved Van Park in Sector 78, where many youth and families participated with great enthusiasm.
The upcoming event on 21st June at Shivalik Park, Sector 33A, will align with nationwide Yoga Sangam celebrations. Arham Dhyan Yoga is also expanding the reach of International Yoga Day 2025 through global parallel sessions, taking the spirit of yoga across borders.
In essence, as people across different regions connect through breath and balance, these celebrations reflect the universal appeal of yoga — and India’s leadership in guiding the world toward a healthier and more harmonious future. All these events are open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to participate and adopt yoga as a way of life.
