Ludhiana, June 23, 2025 — In a four-way contest held amidst tensions and low voter turnout, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Sanjeev Arora has emerged victorious in the Ludhiana West assembly by-election. The victory is considered crucial for Punjab’s political landscape and AAP’s momentum ahead of the 2027 state polls.

AAP maintained its lead once again.

AAP dominated this round too.

Round 6:
Sanjeev Arora continued to lead, but the margin reduced further to 2,286 votes.
Round 5:
AAP’s lead started shrinking.
- Sanjeev Arora’s margin dropped to 2,504 votes, down from 3,060 in Round 3.
Round 4:
AAP still in the lead. Congress held second position, BJP was third.
In the third round, AAP is leading. BJP has moved to the second position, while Congress has slipped to third place.
In the second round as well, AAP’s Sanjeev Arora continues to lead.

- Parupkar Ghumman (SAD): 1,764
The first round of the by-election has gone in AAP’s favour. Sanjeev Arora received 2,895 votes, while Congress’s Bharat Bhushan Ashu is in second place.
