Ahmedabad, June 12, 2025 – A massive tragedy unfolded in the Gulshelli Baju area near Ahmedabad airport today as a commercial aircraft, Air India 171 – Airbus A320, carrying 242 passengers, crashed shortly after takeoff. The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Meghani Nagar region, sparking a massive plume of black smoke visible from far distances.

According to preliminary reports, the plane belonged to Air India and was en route to London, taking off at 1:38 PM and crashing at 1:40 PM. The aircraft reportedly lost control mid-air and crashed into an industrial building belonging to IGB Company. Emergency response teams, including 10+ fire brigade vehicles, were immediately rushed to the scene to contain the fire and aid potential survivors.

Authorities have confirmed the presence of 242+ individuals onboard, including passengers and crew members. The condition of the passengers is still being assessed, and rescue operations are ongoing.

Eyewitnesses described a terrifying scene of explosion and chaos, with parts of the aircraft scattered across the crash site. Thick smoke blanketed the area, and several ambulances have reached the location for immediate medical response.
