The central government has made PM Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) simpler and easier for poor people in rural areas. From now on, you only need to meet 10 conditions (earlier 13) to get free house help from the government.
This move will help more families who are landless, have low income, or live in poor conditions.
What’s Changed in 2025?
- Total conditions reduced from 13 to 10.
- The monthly income limit increased from INR 10,000 to INR 15,000.
- If you own a scooter, bike, or boat, you can still apply.
- Having a gas stove or electricity won’t stop you from getting the benefit now.
How Much Money Will You Get?
- INR 1.30 lakh for people in mountain/hilly areas.
- INR 1.20 lakh for people in plain rural areas.
- Extra wage support under MGNREGA (up to 95 days of labour payment).
These 3 Rules Are Removed Now

- The gas stove at home is okay.
- No need to worry about the electricity connection.
